Choose a quiet place to brush your pet. 2. Before using a FURminator® grooming tool, first check your pet's skin thoroughly for wounds, bumps and inflammation that may be hidden under its fur. Consult your vet to treat such problems before brushing your pet. 3. Brush the coat in gentle upward movements with the curved bristles to loosen tangles and knots. Once you have brushed your pet's entire coat, turn the brush over and brush the coat with the straight bristles for a smooth and shiny result. Be particularly gentle in the abdominal and chest area. To brush the tail, hold a section in the centre and brush the fur on both sides. 4. Be careful in sensitive areas such as the stomach, hips, tail and ears. Always work in the direction of coat growth.
