Most of the tea you'll taste comes from the Camellia sinensis plant, but rooibos is a whole other story: it's cultivated solely in the Cederberg mountains of South Africa where it's grown on small bushes producing green, needle like leaves. The name “rooibos” or “red bush” tea refers to the deep russet colour of the leaves after the process of oxidation, highlighting their naturally rich, treacle-toned taste.
